Alliant Health Solutions Partners with Open Hand
in a Variety of Ways

Alliant Health Solutions is one of the many corporate citizens whose associates give their time, talent and treasure to Open Hand in support of our mission. “We are deeply proud to have Alliant as a community partner,” said interim executive director Matt Pieper. “Our respective organizations share similar missions: to improve the health of our community by providing services that improve the effectiveness of healthcare. In Open Hand’s case, our contribution to healthcare services is access to medically-appropriate meals and nutrition education, services that Alliant has generously and actively supported.”

That support has been felt in very meaningful ways. Open Hand is proud to have Alliant Health Solutions Medical Director Kimberly Rask, M.D. as a valued member of our Board of Directors. “Dr. Rask’s knowledge of the healthcare landscape, in particular the public health sector, is invaluable,” said Jackie Yeaney, co-president of the Open Hand Board of Directors.

Alliant’s CEO Dennis White also gives his time and strategic mind to Open Hand’s mission. As a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2012 that has adopted Open Hand and Good Measure Meals as its community service project, Dennis has been involved in a number of market research projects and customer surveys. The work the class has undertaken will ultimately allow them to put forth marketing strategies for Good Measure Meals that will result in greater financial contributions to the Open Hand mission.

Alliant associates are frequent and welcomed volunteers in the Open Hand kitchen and on meal delivery routes. “The Alliant employees volunteer so often, they no longer need any orientation. The minute they arrive, they put on their aprons or grab their route sheets, and get right to work,” said Roz Tucker, director of Volunteer Services. “They are truly driven by the desire to contribute to something they feel is important. We appreciate them so much!”

Alliant is so committed, the company supported Open Hand’s capital campaign by contributing $150 for each of its employees who volunteered in 2011. In return, each Alliant employee will be recognized with a personalized brick on Open Hand’s expanded campus.
